Porto

Known as the capital of Northern Portugal and the second largest city in Portugal, Porto, bordered by the famous Douro River, is famed for being home to some the country's most iconic places, such as the Ribeira neighbourhood, Bolhão Market, Torre dos Clérigos (Tower of Clerics), Sé (Cathedral), São Bento Station, Bolsa Palace, São Francisco Church and Lello Bookshop, among many others.

With an extremely rich architectural background, Porto's historic city centre has been a World Heritage Site since 1996, while the city was voted the best emerging European destination three times (2012, 2014, 2017).

One cannot talk about Porto without also talking about its famous wine, made from grapes grown in the Douro region and prepared and aged in the famous cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.
