Arrival to Porto. Welcoming at the airport and transfer to the hotel to diner and accommodation.
Visit of Porto, a town built over the right riverside of the river Douro: the sinuous streets of the old town, the Cathedral and the Stock Exchange Palace. Visit of the wine cellars of the Port wine. Return to the hotel for dinner and accommodation.
Full day dedicated to the visit of the Minho area, the green wine region. Departure to Guimarães, the birthplace of Portugal, and visit of the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança as well as of the old Castle. Lunch at Braga, the town of the Archbishops. Return to the hotel to dinner and accommodation.
After breakfast departure towards Amarante, quaint village famous for its traditional pastries. Then, we will discover the breathtaking scenery of the Douro Valley, classified as UNESCO as World Heritage, where we will visit one of the famous Port producing vineyards. Road to Coimbra passing through Viseu (panoramic tour). Dinner and night in Coimbra.
In the morning. visit of Coimbra, one of the oldest university towns in Europe. Next, Tomar where we will visit the Convent of Christ, basis of the Templar Order in Portugal. Settlement at the hotel in Fatima, dinner and accommodation.
Departure to Batalha, and visit of its Monastery (masterpiece of Portuguese gothic), then Nazaré, typical fishing village. Lunch and the visit of the Alcobaça Monastery, and afterwards stop at Óbidos, a picturesque Middle Age village. Arrival at Lisbon. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Visit of Lisbon, one of the most ancient capitals of Europe: the Baixa quarter, the district of Alfama and Belém with its monuments directly related to the Sea Discoveries: Belém Tower (exterior) and the church of the Jerónimos Monastery. Lunch in a local restaurant during visits. Diner with a « Fado » show, at a typical restaurant in Lisbon. Accommodation at the hotel.
Departure to Sintra, summer residence of kings and nobles. Lunch in a local restaurant and visit of the Royal Palace in this town. Afterwards, route to Évora, passing through Cascais and Estoril, known resorts. Dinner and accommodation.
Visit of Évora the Town-Museum of Portugal, classified by UNESCO as World Heritage. Visit of the Cathedral, the Roman Temple and of the Church of St. Francis with its Bone’s Chappell. Lunch in a local restaurant and transfer to either Albufeira or Armação de Pera in the Algarve.
Discovery of Silves, the Monchique mountain and of the small village of Carvoeiro in a half day tour. Dinner and lodging at the hotel.
