The central region of Portugal offers a wide range of tourist experiences.
The unique university city of Coimbra, the sanctuary of Fátima, the imposing monasteries of Alcobaça and Batalha, the mythical medieval town of Óbidos and the coastline marked by the world-famous Nazaré waves, are just a few examples of what this region has to offer its visitors.
Óbidos, a mythical medieval village in central Portugal. Within its walls, we find the Castelo (Castle), declared one of the seven wonders of Portugal in 2007, as well as a huge “maze” of houses and picturesque streets. Tasting the famous Ginjinha de Óbidos is almost a mandatory part of the whole experience for those who visit this village.
